Unique way of remembrance by medicos -turning grief into positive action on Saturday 22nd October 2016 in association with DNipCare and Delhi State Cancer Institute, Dilshad Garden, New Delhi

“Numberless meetings and partings going on in the world –on death, the great parting, from which none returns.

Humans often fall into hope than seeing the reason, and long before we realize, disappointment becomes too hard to handle”.

Ravindra Nath Tagore wrote in his famous short story ‘Post Master’.

The undergraduate Medicos of prestigious AIIMS, New Delhi took the grief of losing their classmate Preeti to the tentacles of cancer disease on 19st October 2015 in a positive way and held a remembrance for her through cultural program for cancer patients and bystanders in Delhi State Cancer Institute on Saturday, 22nd October 2016 in association with DNipCare and the Institute.

The program comprising dance and musical performance artfully flagged with Cancer prevention messages by the budding doctors was a unique experience for the gathered patients and bystanders.  Over 50 medical students participated in the program along with volunteers of Delhites’ National Initiative in Palliative Care (DNipCare).

Dr. RK Grover, Director and CEO, Delhi State Cancer Institute, while addressing the gathering lauded the initiative of channelizing the potential of young medicos into public health and community service and thereby making them part of the Nation building.  Dr. Abdul Mannan, Joint Director felicitated the positive attitude and empathetic gesture of the would-be doctors and wished them success for leading the community in the right direction with their medical and social skills.  The medicos visited the ailing patients belonging to far flung States and staying in Sir Sobha Singh Dharamshala for availing free Cancer treatment from Delhi State Cancer Institute, and distributed fruits and fruit juices to the patients while exchanging pleasantries.

Ajmal Roshan, Raghunandan, Mohammed Ajmal, Soorya Suresh, etc., led the team of medicos from AIIMS.
