ONAM Celebration by Palliative Care Volunteers with Cancer Patients on Sunday 30th August 2015


The Volunteers of DNipCare (Delhites' National Initiative in Palliative Care) Celebrated ONAM with Cancer Patients in the Sir Soba Singh Dharamshala of Delhi State Cancer Institute, Dilshad Garden, New Delhi today, ie. Sunday 30th August 2015. It was an occasion for the patients to rejoice on this festive mood despite their disease and associated sufferings. So the Cancer patients actively participated in making the multi-coloured floral carpet prepared by the volunteers on the occasion and also took part in cultural programs.

Mr. A.T. Sainudin, President, DNipCare presided over the function and Dr. Abdul Mannan, Joint Director, Delhi State Cancer Institute was the Chief Guest. Mr. Shyamalan of Delhi Police who artistically writes and designs, handed over the proceeds he earned by display of his skills at different gatherings, for the Palliative Care support for Cancer Patients. The office bearers of Kairali organization of Delhi Police also participated in the event. Pudding for patients and volunteers sponsored by Mr. Sunil of Nilgiri Restaurant, GTB Enclave and Real Fruit Juices for patients by Dabur India Ltd.

DNipCare has been honoured with an Award for Palliative Care activities in Delhi by M/s NS Books and NAM Delhi


DNipCare has been honoured with an Award for Palliative Care activities in Delhi by M/s NS Books and NAM Delhi infront of an august audience in YWCA Auditorium, Ashoka Road, New Delhi on 23rd August 2015.  The Award was presented by Dr. M. Chandraschekharan Nair, Director, IGNOU Delhi and was received by the volunteers Suresh Thaliyaril, Antony Cyriac and KV Hamza on behalf of entire volunteers of DNipCare.  The volunteers dedicated the Award to Late Mr. Bhaskara Moorthy who despite himself being a Cancer patient spread warmth, and tried to improve quality of life of fellow Cancer patients till his death by volunteering with DNipCare.
