Celebration of Independence Day under the theme “Freedom From Pain” with Cancer Patients by DNipCare

The Independence Day Celebration for DNipCare volunteers was a varied one as we enjoy celebrating the joyous occasion with Cancer Patients for whom the festivals and festivities are taboo while reeling under the pain and perils of the disease.  Completion of six years of the relentless mission of Palliative Care under DNipCare coinciding with the Independence Day, the entire day was spent by the volunteers cheering up the Cancer patients with music, entertainment, distribution of fruit juices, sponsored by M/s Dabur India Ltd., Delhi and exchanging pleasantries in Delhi State Cancer Institute and adjacent Sir Sobha Singh Dharamshala where patients from faraway places come and avail the treatment.  The campaign was held under the theme "Freedom From Pain"

The volunteers hailing from all walks of life especially the student community from different Universities, Colleges and IIT in Delhi enthusiastically participated in the program.  The patients and their bystanders also took part in singing patriotic and cinematic songs, bhajans etc.  Dr. Deepak Srivastava, Dr. Joy Elemon, the medical professionals led the campaign under the theme of “Freedom From Pain” and the participants resolved to volunteer to bring back the smile on the faces of these ailing patients.

With warm regards,
